FOOD
The Essential Part Of Your Retreat.
The food served will help you set the tone of your retreat, be it organic, vegan, vegetarian, raw or simply good food done well.
Bespoke menus designed with your vision in mind, giving your guests a fully immersive dining experience.
With a wealth of knowledge of health focused foods (including Ayurvedic principles) from around the globe such as Indian, Nordic, Mediterranean, Asian and traditional British.
We work effortlessly around your style, incorporating your meal times as a seamless, full retreat experience for your guests.
We effortlessly match the perfect Retreat Chef to you, to compliment your vision which allows a stress free experience from start to finish.
Our Chefs have many years of experience within the hospitality trade especially the Retreat World,
so relax and let us take care of you and your guests!

Ayurveda
Through Ayurvedic principles we try to simply prevent illness and bring balance and harmony to our bodies.
We blend our own spices to create aromatic, individual Churna, which are used in some of the dishes
(and for specific dosha recipes) to help balance your guests bodies.
Dishes such as Red Lentil Dahl, Kitchadi Detox Bowls or Cardamon Rice Pudding even down to Chai Cheesecakes and Saffron and Almond Sleep Tonics are some of the wonderful tastebud busting offerings which can be produced.
Allowing the natural removal of the 'Ama' to help fire up their own 'Agni' gaining strength through the foods served throughout your retreat.
The menus created for your retreats don't necessarily need to be based upon or hold any Ayurvedic principles.

DID SOMEONE SAY SMOOTHIES?
Simply the best way to start the day.
Maybe Matcha, Cantaloupe and Apple or Banana, Oat and Honey, or opt for homemade lemonades ….
Rose, Lemongrass and Raspberry or Mint, Cucumber and Ginger….. refreshing, delicious and lip smackingly awesome.
Specialist smoothies and juices designed with your guests individual Dosha in mind.

BREAKFAST
After your guests first yoga or meditation of the day what better way to refuel than a sumptuous array of fresh fruit platters, oat milk and blueberry pancakes, or even Eggs Benedict.
Fresh baked pastries, homemade scones and coconut and chia porridge…..
The choice is endless…..
LUNCH
Light lunches begin and end with soups.
Hearty, filling and social.
From Goan spiced sweet potato and feta, to Vegan French Onion, Cream of Mushroom and Minted Pea and toasted seed soups…..Served with a crusty loaf of fresh baked soda bread…..
A million flavours to suit every retreat guest…..
Of course, if salads are more your vibe for a lighter lunch, then Watermelon, Feta and Rocket or Roasted Vegetable Quinoa may be in order.
Your vision is achievable.

AFTERNOON TREATS
Cake. I mean, who doesn’t love cake?
Especially after bending in a Vinyasa all morning!
Spoil your guests with a Sacher Torte, a Cherry Fudge Cake, Vegan Brownies or Carrot and Pineapple cake….
Happy tummies adore cake…
DINNER
Dinner time is the heart of your retreat meals.
The social time, the connection time, the conversation time….
Whilst simpler foods can be made such as big pots of chickpea curry, vegetable lasagne or cottage pies, why not push the boat out and serve something a little ‘more’
Thai steamed Moules, ‘in shell’ Scallops with Cheddar Gratin or Seabass Fillets, with Fig and Pancetta salad, salsa verde…..
A yoga retreat doesn’t need to mean split peas and mung beans…..

TESTIMONIALS
See What Others Have Shared
"Marc has catered for my last few retreats and is booked for my entire 2022 season..
His food is exceptional, and more importantly he's a lovely, amenable person. He's based in Cornwall but travels, and caters all over the country (and Europe).
He's excellent, extremely competitively priced and utterly unflappable by the most demanding of students.
Most of the student feedback from my last retreat was more about the amazing food than the yoga. That should tell you all you need to know!"

I can only say 'wow'
The food we had at our retreat was effortless.
It seemed to arrive and never end. Marc's Lemon tart is utterly incredible and I literally can't wait for the release of the book!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WILL WE TRAVEL TO LOCATIONS?
In short, yes.
We regularly travel to retreats throughout the UK, Europe and further afield.
WHICH CHEF DO WE GET AND DO WE BRING OUR OWN EQUIPMENT?
All of our chefs are fully trained competent chefs, with huge amounts of experience. Unless specifically requested, who ever is available (at the time of your retreat) will be taking the lead.
None of our chefs bring their own equipment over and above our own knives.
However, for larger retreats we have catering sized pans if needed.
Wedo not bring BBQ’s, external cold storage, cookers or crockery. (if this is needed it will be liable for an extra 'hiring' cost)
WILL WE NEED HELP TO CATER OR ARRANGE FOOD DELIVERIES?
We usually do not need help.
For larger retreats (over 20 people) this will be discussed.
All food delivery/buying will be arranged by us.
WILL WE BE JOINING IN WITH THE RETREAT?
This is an individual thing.
Some retreat organisers like interaction between us as the chef and the retreat guests.
(E.g, guests helping to serve, clear tables, wash up, etc)
Other organisers like a more professional approach where our role as chef would be considered a ‘non speaking’ role…
CAN WE OFFER ‘COOKING WORKSHOPS’?
Yes.
Workshops or cooking lessons are available.
With a multitude of options available, this can be discussed alongside your retreat ethos.
WILL WE NEED ACCOMMODATION AT THE RETREAT? AND WHO PAYS?
Yes.
With early starts and late finishes it is wise to arrange accommodation within the venue or close by for us.
The cost of this accommodation falls to the retreat organiser and would not be covered by us.
WILL WE BE EATING AT THE RETREAT?
Yes.
We will be eating whilst at the retreat.
Usually it will not be with the guests whilst they have their mealtimes.
All food consumed by us will be at the cost of the organisers.
DO WE CLEAN THE KITCHEN?
Yes.
The kitchen would be solely under our control. (Unless otherwise agreed)
We work to all current Health and Safety legislation.
WILL MARC TEACH YOGA OR LEAD SOUND BATHS TO YOUR GUESTS?
That is to be discussed upon contacting Marc with your vision.
Some retreats like just a chef service, some like to combine sound baths into their schedules, or even use Marc to ‘fill in’ should a teacher not be available.
Marc can lead yoga classes/lead sound baths if desired, however an extra ‘teaching fee’ will apply.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE ARE BOOKED FOR YOUR RETREAT BUT FALL ILL AND ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND?
Whilst we sincerely hope this doesn’t happen, we must plan for every eventuality.
Should one of us be incapacitated, we would do our utmost to find a replacement colleague for the role. (Although we must add, we won’t be able to find a chef, yoga teacher and sound therapist in one person)
With many chefs potentially available to attend (should either be incapacitated) hopefully this won't happen, however....Appropriate insurance on the organisers part should be taken out to cover such eventualities.
HOW MUCH DO THE RETREAT SERVICES COST?
Upon initial contact and understanding of your brief, location, style or retreat etc, a full and comprehensive price list will come out to you.
HOW IT WORKS?
You tell us your style of retreat and your budget for the food per person.
We arrange a zoom meeting to discuss 'face to face'.
We give you bespoke menu suggestions.
We take care of all shopping/ordering, planning, deliveries and cooking.
You give us funds to cover purchases, We give you all associated receipts.
We work around your schedule for mealtimes.
Simple.......
There is another option of an 'all in' price for food and chef services, this will be discussed upon further contact.
Usually we charge a flat daily rate for chef services.
Yoga Teaching and Sound Baths are considered extra services and have a flat hourly rate.
To secure The Anahata Chef, a non refundable deposit of 25% of the Retreat length flat charge is payable upon booking.
The balance is payable 30 days prior to the retreat starting.
All Major credit cards are taken.
